Affirmations for Finding Yourself

On my best days, I value reminders that who I am is not determined by my circumstances, as it keeps me grounded, humble and focused on what truly matters. On my worst days, affirmations can be the little nudge to stay on-track, fight the good fight and persevere through the difficulty.

Either way, affirmations have a way of changing the self-identity, often for good. You may find yourself asking “why do I need affirmations?” – my answer is that, although no one ‘needs’ affirmations, I would remind you that the words we speak, the words spoken over us, about us, to us, have an impact and ability to shape our lives in ways science doesn’t yet fully understand.

What Are Affirmations?

affirmations are one way that we can nurture and encourage ourselves, internally – our true self, to become all that we were made to be. Our internal world is much more powerful than the external at shaping our life. Who you are inside is the limit to which you will become outside.

Affirmations are not magic. Affirmations are not mysterious. Affirmations are not your ticket to a better life. No matter how many times you say “I am rich,” you won’t magically open your eyes and be rich. However, if you remind yourself, with grace and courage, that you are capable and resilient, you may find yourself being willing to do the hard work necessary to aquire externally that which you seek to have.

I like to write some of the affirmations that spill out of me and look forward to sharing them here for you.
